# What You'll Need:

01 - Chopped dates (1 cup/200g).
02 - Hot water (1 cup).
03 - 1 teaspoon baking soda.
04 - All-purpose flour (125g/1 cup).
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder.
06 - A tiny pinch of salt (1/4 teaspoon).
07 - Cinnamon powder (1/2 teaspoon).
08 - Softened unsalted butter (115g/1/2 cup).
09 - Light brown sugar (150g/3/4 cup).
10 - Two large eggs.
11 - Vanilla essence (1 teaspoon).
12 - Butter for the sauce (1/2 cup/115g).
13 - Brown sugar for the sauce (200g/1 cup).
14 - Heavy cream (240ml/1 cup).
15 - Vanilla extract for the sauce (1 teaspoon).

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Let dates sit in hot water with baking soda for around 15-20 minutes.
02 - Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8-inch baking pan.
03 - Combine cinnamon, baking powder, flour, and salt in a bowl.
04 - Blend butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Stir in soaked dates and dry mix.
05 - Transfer into greased pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes, until it’s set.
06 - Heat butter, cream, and sugar together until smooth. Stir in vanilla last.
