01 -
Spread the butter generously on one side of every rye bread slice. Once done, set them aside for later.
02 -
In a bowl, mix together the beef, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Shape the mixture into three patties designed to match the size of your bread.
03 -
Place the patties in a skillet set to medium-high heat. Sear for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Lower the heat, then cook for 5 more minutes until the meat has no pink and reaches 160°F (71°C).
04 -
Combine the mayo, ketchup, sugar, relish, and bacon bits in a small mixing bowl. Stir until it looks smooth and creamy.
05 -
Heat a clean skillet over medium-low. Lay a piece of bread butter-side down, add two slices of cheddar, place a beef patty on top, then add two slices of Provolone. Smear the sauce on the unbuttered side of another bread slice and close it up with the sauce facing in.
06 -
Toast the sandwich on each side for about 2 to 3 minutes until crispy and golden. Repeat these steps for the rest of your sandwiches until all three are done.
