Easy Authentic Churros (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough Mix

01 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
02 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil
03 - ½ tsp salt
04 - 2 ½ tbsp granulated sugar
05 - 1 cup water

→ Cooking Oil

06 - 2 quarts vegetable oil

→ Sugar Coating

07 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon
08 - ½ cup granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Combine water, sugar, salt, and oil in a medium pot. Heat over medium-high until it starts boiling.
02 - Take the pot off the stove, blending in the flour until it comes together smoothly. Cool for 10 minutes.
03 - Heat 2 quarts of oil in a large deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
04 - Move the cooled dough into a piping bag with a star tip attachment.
05 - Squeeze strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry each for 2 minutes on both sides until crispy and golden. Set them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
06 - Combine cinnamon and sugar in a wide dish. Toss the warm churros in the sugary mix until they're covered.

# Notes:

01 - Allow the dough to cool before piping—this prevents the bag from melting.
02 - Keep the oil temperature steady at 375°F (190°C) with a kitchen thermometer.
03 - They taste best warm! Try serving them with a chocolate dipping sauce.
