Healthy Turkey Skillet (Printable Version)

A quick, hearty dish blending turkey, sweet potatoes, and veggies into a balanced one-pan dinner.

# What You'll Need:

→ Key items

01 - 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into bite-sized pieces
02 - 1 pound of ground turkey meat
03 - 1 bell pepper (pick your favorite color), diced
04 - 1 yellow onion, finely diced
05 - 2 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
06 - 1 tablespoon olive oil (or use avocado oil instead)

→ Spices

07 - A pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper, add to taste
08 - 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
09 - 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

→ Final additions

10 - Fresh spinach (about 2 cups), roughly shredded
11 - Parsley leaves, chopped finely for decoration

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Put the olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. Toss in the onion and garlic once the oil is warm. Cook for 2-3 minutes till they smell amazing and turn a little clear.
02 - Throw the diced sweet potatoes into the pan and cook them, giving them a stir now and then. Keep an eye on them for around 10 minutes—they should start getting tender but not mushy.
03 - Move the sweet potatoes over to one side of the skillet. Add your ground turkey to the open space and break it up as it cooks. Let it go for 5-7 minutes until there's no pink left and it's browned lightly.
04 - Sprinkle the ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper all over the skillet's contents. Stir it up well so everything is covered in those tasty spices.
05 - Toss in the spinach and chopped bell pepper. Cook for 3-4 more minutes until the spinach wilts and the bell pepper softens. Garnish with parsley after removing the pan from the heat.

# Additional Notes:

01 - This meal stores great—keep it in the fridge for a maximum of 4 days if prepping ahead.
02 - Switch up the turkey for chicken, beef, or plant-based options you like!
03 - Try tossing in extras like zucchini, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes if you want more variety.
