Sweet Spicy Chicken Wings (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Wings prep

01 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
02 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon salt
05 - 2 pounds chicken wings split between flats and drumettes

→ Sauce: sweet & spicy

06 - ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (totally up to you for more heat)
07 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
08 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
09 - ¼ cup hot sauce—grab any brand you like
10 - ¼ cup brown sugar
11 - ¼ cup honey

→ Extra toppings

12 - Chopped fresh cilantro
13 - Sesame seeds
14 - Green onions, sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Once the wings are ready to go, toss them in a mixing bowl with your sweet & spicy glaze and swirl everything around so they're all comfy and coated.
02 - Set a small pot on medium heat and mix up honey, brown sugar, hot sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and if you're feeling wild, a little cayenne. Let it bubble a bit while you stir, then take it off heat once it thickens up a smidge (should take 3 to 5 minutes).
03 - Pour oil into your deep fryer or a sturdy pot until it's nice and hot—about 375°F (190°C). Drop in the wings in batches so they don't crowd. Fry them for 8-10 minutes, until they're golden and cooked all the way. Set them on paper towels after for any extra oil.
04 - Crank your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line up those wings on a rack that's over a foil-covered pan. Bake for 20-ish minutes, flip 'em, and bake another 20-25 minutes until crispy and nicely colored.
05 - Give the wings a good rinse and dry them off with paper towels—this helps them crisp up. Mix them in a big bowl with salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Make sure they're all coated.

# Notes:

01 - Try throwing on some green onions, cilantro, or sesame seeds to finish. Looks good and adds some crunch.
02 - Pair with whatever snacks or drinks you love—they go with pretty much everything.
