Spicy Chicken Honey Biscuits (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - About 1.5-2 lbs of chicken tenders or thinly sliced chicken breast.
02 - 1 and 1/2 cups of regular flour for breading.
03 - 1 tsp of kosher salt.
04 - 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper.
05 - A pinch—1/4 tsp—of garlic powder.
06 - Smoked paprika—just 1/4 tsp.
07 - 1 egg mixed with 2 tbsp of water.
08 - Cooking oil for frying.
09 - 2 cups of flour used for biscuit dough.
10 - 1 tbsp of baking powder.
11 - 1 tsp kosher salt, specifically for biscuits.
12 - 1/4 tsp of baking soda.
13 - 1/2 cup cold butter, with 1/4 cup melted later.
14 - 3/4 cup of tangy buttermilk.
15 - 1 cup of honey.
16 - 2 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes.
17 - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm oil to 375°F. Mix the breading ingredients together. Dip chicken in flour, then egg mix, then flour again. Fry until crispy and golden, about 8-10 minutes.
02 - Blend the dry items together. Cut in the cold butter until there are small crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk. Fold the dough a few times, cut into circles, and bake at 450°F for 15-17 minutes.
03 - Heat honey with chili flakes just until it starts to bubble. Take it off the stove and mix in vinegar. Let it cool down.
04 - Slice biscuits open, lay a fried chicken piece inside, and pour some spicy honey over the top. Pickles optional!

# Notes:

01 - You can make the honey in advance and store it.
02 - Folding the dough gives you those classic flaky layers.
03 - Avoid twisting the biscuit cutter. That keeps them nice and tall.
