Salted Peanut Krispies (Printable Version)

Peanut butter Rice Krispies with a touch of sea salt. Fast, fun, and great for sharing!

# What You'll Need:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
02 - 10 oz marshmallows (mini works great, but big ones are fine too)
03 - 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
04 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
05 - 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (natural or regular is fine)
06 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Topping

07 - A bit of flaky sea salt to sprinkle on top

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Grease up a 9x13-inch pan with some butter or a spritz of cooking spray, then put it aside for later.
02 - Use medium heat to gently melt the butter and peanut butter in a big pot. Keep stirring till it’s all smooth. Toss in the marshmallows and keep mixing until they’re melted down and combined.
03 - Pull the pot off the heat. Stir in the fine sea salt and vanilla to bring out the flavors.
04 - Dump the cereal into the pot and fold it in carefully until every piece is covered in the gooey mixture.
05 - Move the mixture to your greased pan and gently press it into place with oiled hands or a spatula.
06 - If you like, sprinkle some flaky sea salt over the warm mixture while it’s still sticky.
07 - Let it all cool on the counter for about half an hour. Slice it into squares and dig in!

# Additional Notes:

01 - Don’t squish the mixture into the pan too hard—it’ll make the treats tough instead of soft.
02 - Switch things up with some melted chocolate drizzle or crunchy peanut butter for added flavor.
03 - To make this gluten-free, use a certified gluten-free version of Rice Krispies.
