Crispy Oven Baked Fries (Printable Version)

Baked sweet potato fries come out crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Easy spices and a quick tip make them a hit every time.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 teaspoon paprika (go for smoky if you want even more flavor)
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 2 tablespoons olive oil—pick one you like the taste of
06 - 2 medium sweet potatoes, slice into fries and peel if you feel like it

→ Optional Extra

07 - For serious crunch, toss in 1 tablespoon cornstarch

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Give your fries a couple of minutes to cool, then get snacking on those crisp, golden bites.
02 - Flip your fries at the halfway mark. Slide them into that hot oven on your baking sheet. Keep plenty of space between each. Bake them for 25 to 30 minutes till they're crispy like you want.
03 - Pat the fries nice and dry with paper towels. In a mixing bowl, combine the fries with olive oil and all your spices. If you want, sprinkle in cornstarch and stir until they're all coated.
04 - Drop the cut fries into cold water for half an hour. This step helps them turn out crispy by pulling out extra starch.
05 - Slice your sweet potatoes into fries, about a quarter inch thick, peeling them only if you really want. Try making them all about the same size so they bake evenly.
06 - Crank up your oven to 425°F (220°C). Stick a baking sheet in there while everything heats up—it'll help those fries crisp up better.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Preheating the baking pan stops fries from sticking
02 - Cornstarch gives a crunchy, extra crispy finish
03 - Soaking pulls starch out, so you get crispier fries
