Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease up a 9x13-inch pan lightly.

Combine the melted butter and cake mix until crumbly. Firmly press about 2/3 of this into your pan to make the bottom layer.

Evenly spoon the lemon filling over the base layer in the pan.

Blend cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, lemon zest, and the egg until smooth and creamy. Pour it over the lemon layer.

Sprinkle the leftover cake mix crumbs over the top. Bake it for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the middle is set.

Let it cool down for at least 30 minutes before cutting. Want extra flair? Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you'd like.
