Juicy Meat Patties (Printable Version)

Juicy German-style meat patties with herbs and balanced seasoning. Great as your next main course or tucked into a sandwich.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 pound of ground beef or a mix of beef and pork.
02 - A small finely chopped onion.
03 - 1 clove of garlic, minced really small.
04 - One large egg.
05 - A slice of bread, slightly stale.
06 - 1/4 cup of whole milk.
07 - A teaspoon of Dijon mustard—or yellow if that's what you've got.
08 - Around 1 teaspoon of salt.
09 - Half a teaspoon of black pepper.
10 - Half a teaspoon of paprika.
11 - Optional: 1/2 teaspoon of dried marjoram.
12 - Chopped parsley, about a tablespoon.
13 - 2 tablespoons of butter or oil for frying.

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Soak the bread in milk for about 5 minutes. Once soft, squeeze out the milk and tear into small pieces.
02 - Combine the meat, bread, onion, garlic, egg, and seasoning in a bowl. Gently mix everything just until it comes together—don’t overdo it to keep the meat soft.
03 - Divide the mixture into 4-6 portions. Flatten each portion into oval shapes, roughly 1/2 inch thick.
04 - Heat your butter or oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the patties on both sides for about 4-5 minutes until golden and fully cooked (aim for 160°F inside).
05 - Set the patties aside to rest for a short while. Enjoy warm with some bread or potatoes.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Adding cayenne or nutmeg gives it a bold kick.
02 - Tastes great cold—perfect for sandwiches the next day.
03 - For a hands-off version, bake at 375°F for 25 minutes instead of frying.
