Holiday Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter, brought to cool room temp.
02 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
03 - 3/4 cup white sugar.
04 - 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract (pure).
05 - 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring.
06 - 2 large eggs.
07 - 3 cups plain flour.
08 - 3/4 teaspoon baking powder.
09 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt.
10 - Extra flour or powdered sugar for rolling.

# Instructions:

01 - Cream together softened butter, powdered sugar, and regular sugar. Mix in eggs and both flavor extracts till smooth.
02 - In another bowl, stir together flour, salt, and baking powder.
03 - Gradually add the dry mix into the wet mix, blending until fully mixed.
04 - Split the dough in half, flatten into disks, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for at least 2 hours (or up to a day).
05 - Set oven to 375°F and lay parchment paper on baking pans.
06 - Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a surface dusted with powdered sugar. Cut out shapes and place them on baking trays.
07 - Place re-rolled dough shapes in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before baking to keep the dough cold.
08 - Bake for 8-12 minutes, rotating pans halfway through. Edges should barely brown and centers should remain a bit soft.

02 - Baked cookies can stay frozen up to 3 months.
03 - Dough can stay frozen for about 3 months.
