Easy Shepherd's Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Potato Layer

01 - 2.5 pounds of Russet potatoes, peeled and cut
02 - 1/4 cup of butter
03 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt
04 - Pepper, to your taste
05 - 1/2 cup of heavy cream
06 - 3 minced garlic cloves
07 - Optional: parsley, chopped for sprinkling

→ Meat Mixture

08 - 1 medium onion, diced small
09 - 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
10 - 1 pound of lean lamb or beef, ground
11 - 2 tablespoons of butter
12 - 1 cup of beef stock
13 - 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
14 - 1/2 teaspoon of dried Italian herbs
15 - 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
16 - 2 cups of frozen mixed veggies
17 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

# Instructions:

01 - Get your potatoes boiling. Heat your oven to 375°F and grab your skillet for the meat.
02 - Melt butter in your skillet, soften onions, and brown the meat. Add the seasonings, tomato paste, flour, broth, and veggies.
03 - Combine the warm cream, garlic, and butter with boiled potatoes. Mash until fluffy and smooth.
04 - Spread the meat base in a 9x13 pan. Cover with the mashed potatoes. Bake for 30 minutes, then broil until golden.
