# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 medium onion, diced
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1 pound ground beef
04 - 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
05 - 4-5 potatoes, sliced thin
06 - 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
07 - 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
08 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
09 - Salt and black pepper to your taste
10 - 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
11 - 1/4 cup milk for extra creaminess (optional)
12 - 1/2 cup beef broth or plain water
13 - Fresh parsley as garnish (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven to 375°F (190°C). Coat a 9×13-inch dish using olive oil or a spray to avoid sticking.
02 - Warm up olive oil in a large skillet on medium. Add ground beef and crumble it while cooking until it gets nice and brown (around 5-7 minutes). Remove extra grease if necessary.
03 - Stir chopped onions and minced garlic into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the onion looks soft and clear.
04 - Spread the beef mixture at the bottom of your dish. Add the potato slices on top, sprinkling on paprika, salt, black pepper, and the dried herbs.
05 - Scatter the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the potatoes. Pour the broth or water along the edges. Add a drizzle of milk if you want it creamier.
06 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Take off the foil and keep baking for 15-20 minutes more, till the cheese is bubbly and golden, and the potatoes are fully cooked.
07 - Give the dish 5 minutes to sit before serving. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - Cut the potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
02 - Removing the fat keeps the dish lighter and less oily.
03 - Resting lets everything settle and flavors mix better.
