Simple Sausage Crescent Rolls (Printable Version)

Flaky crescent dough filled with sausage and cheese. Quick to make and perfect for mornings or a weekend treat!

# What You'll Need:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls
02 - 1 pound of ground breakfast sausage – choose either turkey or pork

→ Cheese & Seasonings

03 - 1/4 cup softened cream cheese, at room temperature
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
05 - 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese or a blend you love
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for added flavor

→ Finishing Touch

07 - 1 egg, whisked, for an optional glossy golden top

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set your oven to heat up to 375°F (190°C). While it warms, cover a baking tray with either parchment or a silicone mat—this'll keep the rolls from sticking.
02 - Cook your sausage in a pan over medium heat until it's fully browned. Get rid of the extra grease and let it cool down a touch.
03 - In a bowl, mix together the browned sausage, shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir it all until blended nicely.
04 - Roll out your crescent dough and pull apart the triangles. Spoon some of your sausage mix onto the wide end, roll 'em up, and arrange them seam-side down on your lined tray.
05 - For a pretty golden finish, lightly brush the tops with the whisked egg—it’s up to you if you wanna skip this step.
06 - Slide the tray into the oven for around 12-15 minutes. Watch for them to turn golden and puffed.
07 - Dish these out while they’re still warm. They're great on their own or paired with condiments like mustard, ketchup, or even creamy gravy!

# Additional Notes:

01 - Want something more filling? Add scrambled eggs to the mix before rolling!
02 - Boost the spice factor with spicy sausage or some crushed red pepper flakes.
03 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to get them warm and crispy again.
