# What You'll Need:

01 - ½ yellow onion, chopped finely.
02 - 2 teaspoons parsley, dried.
03 - 8 slices bacon, cut into pieces.
04 - 3 garlic cloves, chopped small.
05 - 2 cups chicken broth.
06 - 1 cup sour cream.
07 - 4 ounces cream cheese.
08 - 1 packet ranch mix (dry).
09 - 1 teaspoon black pepper.
10 - 1 teaspoon table salt.
11 - 2 cups grated cheddar cheese.
12 - 10 ounces penne (dry weight).
13 - 1½ pounds chicken, sliced into bite-sized chunks.
14 - Green onions, sliced thin, for garnishing.

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Cook the penne in boiling water just until soft. Drain it, rinse in cool water, and keep it on the side.
02 - In a hot pan, cook the bacon bits till they’re crispy. Remove them and place on paper towels.
03 - Keep a little bacon grease in the pot. Season the chicken cubes with salt and pepper, then cook till the outsides are golden.
04 - Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook it until it softens. Toss in the garlic and stir for another minute.
05 - Stir in the chicken broth, cream cheese, sour cream, ranch powder, seasonings, and the bacon. Bring it to a mild boil, then lower the heat.
06 - Add the pasta and cheese into the pot. Let it bubble softly for about 5 minutes.
07 - Scatter green onion slices on top and serve it hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Set aside some extra bacon and cheddar for sprinkling on top if you like.
