Grease a 3-quart dish with butter.

Soften the sweet potatoes using one of the methods listed below.

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Mash the potatoes with butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and baking powder. Stir in buttermilk, mix in eggs, and beat the mix until smooth.

Spoon the smooth mixture into the greased dish.

Combine pecans, flour, and both sugars. Mix in melted butter, then sprinkle over the top of the potatoes.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

Bake for half an hour, add marshmallows, then bake again for 5-10 minutes until the marshmallows brown a bit.

Bake at 400°F for 30-60 minutes, boil for 15-20 minutes, or pressure cook on high for 10 minutes in an Instant Pot.
