Fried Apples (Printable Version)

Warm apple slices with cinnamon and buttery caramel flavor.

# What You'll Need:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 5–6 tart apples, cut into 1/2-inch slices after peeling and coring (roughly 2 lb)
02 - 4 tablespoons of butter

→ Seasonings & Sweeteners

03 - 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
04 - A pinch of salt
05 - ¼ cup of packed brown sugar

→ Prevent Browning

06 - Juice squeezed from one lemon (bottled juice works too)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Peel, remove the cores, and slice the apples into 1/2-inch pieces. Drizzle juice from a lemon over them and gently mix to help them stay fresh-colored while you work.
02 - Put a cast-iron skillet or sturdy pan on medium heat. Let the butter melt until it smells amazing and starts to bubble.
03 - Add the sliced apples into the pan. Sprinkle in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt, and stir it all together so the apples are evenly coated.
04 - Cover the pan and let the apples cook for about 15 minutes. Stir them once in a while. You’re aiming for soft, golden slices with a caramelized touch.
05 - Once the apples are perfectly tender, take them off the heat. They’re tasty on their own—but even better when paired with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

# Additional Notes:

01 - Great as a sweet treat or alongside breakfast dishes!
02 - For extra flavor, sprinkle nutmeg or drizzle on honey before serving.
