Soft Butter Mints (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup of softened butter.
02 - 4 cups of powdered sugar.
03 - 2 tablespoons of heavy cream.
04 - 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint flavoring.
05 - Red food gel or liquid coloring.

# Instructions:

01 - Scatter some parchment paper on your surface and keep powdered sugar handy for dusting.
02 - Whip up your butter until it gets light and airy.
03 - Stir in the cream, sugar, and peppermint until it clumps into a sturdy dough.
04 - Take a quarter of the dough for red, and the rest stays white.
05 - Shape both dough sections into tiny balls.
06 - Stretch out the red dough into a skinny rope.
07 - Roll the white dough into a thicker rope than the red.
08 - Wrap the red and white ropes around each other.
09 - Use your hands to gently smooth out the twisted ropes.
10 - Leave the ropes to air dry for about 1-2 hours.
11 - Cut the ropes into sections with a pizza wheel.
12 - Allow the pieces to air dry completely for an entire day.

# Notes:

01 - You don't need to put these in the fridge.
02 - Feel free to add more peppermint if you'd like!
03 - Keep these in a sealed container to store.
