Warm Apple Crisp (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Apple Filling

01 - Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin
02 - A mix of dark brown sugar for rich sweetness
03 - Plain flour for thickening the mixture
04 - White sugar to balance the flavor
05 - Cinnamon powder to add warmth
06 - Freshly grated nutmeg
07 - Vanilla extract for extra aroma

→ Crunchy Topping

08 - Rolled oats for the perfect crunch
09 - All-purpose flour
10 - Packed brown sugar
11 - Cinnamon powder
12 - A small pinch of salt
13 - Some baking powder
14 - Unsalted butter, melted

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish lightly with cooking spray.
02 - In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with white sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Make sure every piece is coated well.
03 - Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Don’t press it down too much—leave some room for the juices to bubble up.
04 - In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture gets crumbly.
05 - Scatter the topping evenly over the apples. Make sure no part of the apples is left uncovered.
06 - Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, leaving it uncovered. It’s ready when the top is golden brown and the apple juices are bubbling around the edges.
07 - Cool it for about 5-10 minutes before serving. This lets the filling settle and makes it easier to dish out. A scoop of ice cream on top is always a win!

# Notes:

01 - Cut cold butter instead of melting it if you want an extra crunchy topping.
02 - A bit of lemon juice will keep the apple slices from getting brown.
03 - Make sure the apple slices still have a bit of bite once baked.
04 - Use a baking sheet under the dish to catch any spills or drips.
